As a 975 owner for nearly a year now – I do NOT recommend this bike.
Its excellent when it works and, on its surface, it seems like great value for money…but its shamefully unreliable to the point where nearly every ride is affected.
I started encountering E20 error messages about 3 months after I first got the ebike and these have not stopped since then (although the ebike was serviced 5 times by now at the dealer), the problem is intermitted, unexpected and never fully resolved.
I met several other owners by now suffering from the same problem (I met some of them while bringing my bike to the dealer) and they all complain of the same problem – you get an E20 error message during the ride and then the 975 just shuts down, a restart or a battery pull helps for a while, till the problem happens again, and again, and again.
Merida should focus on reliability and customer care if they want to maintain their brand. Personally I feel like I’ve been conned and in the future will avoid them like their products.
