Demo,d this bike for a good few hours around North Yorkshire, and can give it the thumbs up ???? Bike felt totally well built solid planted and positive , Everything worked instantly first time / every time – Brakes good – Forks felt a bit soft on tarmac but perfect once on the trail, The 780 bars and head geometry felt spot on – Gear changes good solid thumb clicks , Dropper faultless- 5 power settings from Eco to Turbo ( spent 2 hours in turbo lol ) can report all good – Downsides , Test Bike was restricted to 16mph , I would have loved to open the taps a bit – Heavy and you’ll struggle to get air without SPDs – Summary this bike isn’t the most exiting lightest fastest all singing all dancing bike by a long way – What it is is a well made well thought out bike that works brilliantly with the kit that whyte have teamed it up with – go anywhere reliable. A positive 8 out of 10.
I’ve owned one for a year now. It copes really well with steep tech descents, and I can almost keep up with my pal on his FS on most trails. It took a while to get back into riding a hard tail after years on a FS. You’ve got to remember to use your legs to soak up the rough stuff . It didn’t take long. Not hard to get air and it’s surprising how lively it is. Tech climbs are really enjoyable. 600 miles in and everything is running smoothly. The RS 35s pissed their oil out of the top. They were replaced under warranty with no problems.
