Manufacturer WebsiteThe Rascal lives up to its name- it is a sleek looking machine that is mischievously fast, nimble, and adept. Think capability and playfulness in both ascend and full send mode. Our vision for the Rascal was to deliver a confidence-inspiring and ultra-versatile mountain bike in all applications. The Canfield Balance Formula is the heart of every Revel bike, which maximizes the amount you pedal in the sweet spot. The Rascal is a fast and capable mountain bike in a sleek package that you can ride every day, regardless of terrain.
"Instead of taking things potentially too far like the otherwise similar Yeti SB130, the Rascal combines familiar-feeling cockpit numbers and a standard-offset fork with genre-pushing wheelbase and head angle. On the climbs, it simply meant that the Rascal is comfortable and neutral. Though we would tend to demand a seat angle upwards of 76 degrees on a long-travel bike, a moderate-travel bike like the Rascal pairs perfectly with its 75 degrees. And that reduced-offset fork made the 66-degree head angle feel downright precise. It’s odd that, barely two years into the reduced-offset revolution, standard-offset forks are already regaining ground and, in some ways, even seem a little edgy."
"One of the biggest takeaways from my time on the Revel Rascal is that this does not feel like the freshman effort of a fledgling bike company. Instead, the Rascal rides like the thoroughly modern offering of an established player – one that is sure to win over fans of bikes that don’t let their suspension numbers dictate the size of the jumps. "
"The Rascal left me impressed in every situation I encountered along a 15-mile route with chunky Moab rock, soft and sandy doubletrack, and a few big drops. At a starting price of $5,000, it’s obviously not an entry-level bike, but personally, I feel like it’s probably worth every penny. And that isn’t an easy feeling to get from such a short amount of time on a bike."
